Episode 1: Takahara Megumi and Notes
Right now, I was making a grave for a cat on a mere whim.
A white cat had died in the alley where I tried to take a shortcut through on my way to school in the morning.
It’s not like Memory Souta was a good young man who does such admirable things on the norm.
Fundamentally he found things troublesome, and wasn’t the type of person who would take the initiative to do something aside from when he was being asked or entrusted with work.
However, while thinking such things like “somehow this cat looks like the one I used to keep?” and “is it normal for stray cats to die in the open like this?”, he ended up carrying the cat’s corpse to a nearby park.
Upon looking closely at the cat whose corpse he picked up, he could see that its white coat was still shiny and beautiful.
And despite it being thin enough to tell at a glance that it was dead, it was a pretty, yet strange corpse that probably would appear to be still alive if it still had its body heat.
Digging a hole in the corner of the park, he placed the corpse inside and covered it with soil before offering a token amount of wild flowers.
Now then, with this I’ve ended up becoming completely late. Well, the first period is that boring world history with Kishikawa-sensei, so I guess there’s no problem, huh?”
Since I knew I wouldn’t make it in time for first period even if I ran, I headed towards school at my own pace.
